Yume The Wizard
Yume The Wizard is an interactive app playground that guides users through the process of training and validating an image classification model. Inspired by research on ethics and fairness in machine learning, the app uses a captivating narrative to teach principles of data diversity, transparency, and continuous improvement. Developed using CreateML, CoreML, and various Apple frameworks, the project earned Larissa a Swift Student Challenge Award and an invitation to attend the in-person WWDC 2024 event.
Yume SpellBook
Yume’s Spellbook is an educational iOS app that gamifies the training and fine-tuning of large language models (LLMs) through interactive storytelling. Players help Yume, a friendly wizard, craft magical spells using ingredients like computation, raw text, and hyperparameters—making complex AI concepts intuitive and engaging. The app features an on-device Core ML–optimized GPT-2 model, compressed using pruning and quantization techniques. This project earned Larissa a Distinguished Winner award at the Apple Swift Student Challenge 2025 and an invitation to attend WWDC in Cupertino.
